On Saturday my good friend and fellow blogger Anna from Don’t Cramp My Style and I had a girlie night in.
The weather forecast for last weekend was pretty bad, so we decided to stay in, put on our Jimmy Jammas , watch some girlie movies, have some prosecco and hot chocolate. The whole nine yards basically.
We had a few things to celebrate:
For starters, I’ve not caught up with my girlie in a while – welcome to the life of a young professional! Work consumes pretty much most of your time.
Another reason was Anna’s recent Cosmopolitan nomination for ‘Best Interior Blogger’ which unfortunately she didn’t win.
I thought that I’ll be sharing a few photos from our girls night in with you lot and also present you with an essentials guide for a successful girlie night in:
Nina’s Guide For A Girls’ Night In:
- Invite your friend/friends over – we decided to get cozy in my flat since I live in a gorgeous duplex in the NQ and it is simply ideal to take loads of pictures.
- Decide on what kind of films you want to watch – these days it’s so much easier because you don’t have to rent anymore, thank god for Netflix. We went for Sex And The City
- Are you planning on having facemasks? Manis and pedis? If so, don’t forget to head on down to your local drugstore and pick up some items. We skipped facemasks but opted for manicures. OPI has some fabulous colours, I personally preferred the bright pink. A girl needs a bit of colour in her life – especially with the weather being so miserable!!!
4.Prosecco is a must – I mean, who doesn’t love prosecco, right? When I think about catching up with my girlies, prosecco is somehow always involved!
5.Moving on to hot cocoa – now we went all out on our hot cocoa. My brother and sister in law gave me these beautiful floral mugs last christmas and I just thought they would be ideal for a massive cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows – sometimes you just have to indulge.
Oh I love this Lindor chocolate….delicious.
6.Now it’s time to get comfy – You don’t want to be in your skinny jeans and crop top for a chilled night, you NEED to get as comfortable as possible. We picked our nightwear from Debenhams‘ Ted Baker collection. Anna opted for a cozy grey onesie and I chose a floral kimono. I actually played around with it for a bit and decided that it’s also very suitable as a top with flaired jeans or even skinny jeans and a nice lace bustier underneath.
7.Last but not least – you simply need to have a good time and laugh a lot. It is so important to cherish every single moment you spend with your friends and when you look back later on in life, you’ll remember these special moments.
As you can see, a girls’ night in is so much fun and a lot cheaper as well. If you’re a bit tight on cash at the moment, it’s the perfect alternative to a night out minus the hangover
Love, Nina x
