I’m very much into my fitness and try get 3-5 gym sessions in per week. Since I sprained my ankle about two months ago, I haven’t been able to work out a lot which has definitely taken a toll on my mental well being.
People underestimate the power of keeping fit. The physical well being is more like a side factor for me.
A few weeks ago my blogging friend Anna from Don’tCrampMyStyle.co.uk and myself attended the JD Sports Christmas party at the Gotham hotel in Manchester. The venue was absolutely gorgeous, I’m not surprised they made it onto the top 20 hotels in the UK.
Since I work in Northwich, it’s always tricky for me to get back to Manchester for events that start early. Unfortunately we missed the part when food was served, much to our disappointment as we are both big foodies.
We received a warm welcome by the staff of the hotel as well as the SEO girls from JD Sports and started our evening with a lovely glass of rose fizz.
JD Sports showcased their new JD Women athleisure line and we got to have a sneak peek. On top of that we were given a wishlist and got to select 5 items for Christmas whilst sipping bubbly.
The women streetwear collection was absolutely amazing. Brands such as Pink Soda and Hype are super trendy at the moment and cater to the broader mass. Athleisure is a trend that will be around for a while. More and more women will also wear their gym outfits to work or to run errands.
If you have a look at glossy magazines more and more designers are pairing trainers with suits and dresses. And let’s be honest, who doesn’t prefer wearing trainers? They’re super comfy and a lot healthier for your feet as well:)
The last time I wore Fila was probably back in the 90s, so when I saw the Fila Baseball shirt, I just knew it had to be on my wishlist. Another brand I’ve come across at the event is Hype. From tracksuits to crop tops, they cater to females who are into the athleisure style.
I opted for a cropped bomber jacket with a beautiful blue floral design on the back.
All in all it was a brilliant night, catching up with other old blogger pals whilst drinking the finest red wines, cocktails and enjoying the beautiful view over Manchester.
… and then my parcel arrived… beautifully wrapped with a personal note and the best Christmas gifts. Guess I was a good girl last year after all.
Watch this space to find out how I’ll be combining my trainers this winter.
Love, Nina x
